WikiWikiWeb은 협업적인 하이퍼 텍스트 환경으로서 정보에 접근하고 수정하기 쉬운 장점을 가지고 있다. 이 위키 또한 InterWiki 공간의 한 부분을 이루고 있다.

어떤 위키 페이지건 페이지 하단부에 있는 EditText 링크를 누르면 페이지 내용의 편집이 가능하다. WikiName을 의미하는 대문자 조합 단어들은 또 다른 페이지와 하이퍼링크로 연결되어 진다. 현재 페이지의 제목을 눌러 하일라이트시키면 그 페이지와 링크로 연결된 모든 다른 페이지들이 검색되어진다. 제목만 있을 뿐 아직 그 내용이 채워지지 않은 페이지들은 제목에 물음표가 붙거나 굵은 빨간색 글자로 표시된다. 이를 누른 후 그 내용을 당신이 스스로 채울 수도 있다.

원한다면 WikiSandBox에서 맘껏 글을 썼다 지웠다 편집해도 무방하다. 처음 위키위키를 접하는 초보자들은 이 곳에서 충분히 위키가 어떻게 작동하는 지에 대해 연습할 것을 권장한다. 아울러 위키에 익숙해 지기 전에는 부디 다른 위키 페이지에 함부로 손대는 것은 자제해 주었으면 한다.

A WikiWikiWeb is a collaborative hypertext environment, with an emphasis on easy access to and modification of information. This wiki is also part of the InterWiki space.

You can edit any page by pressing the link at the bottom of the page. Capitalized words joined together form a WikiName, which hyperlinks to another page. The highlighted title searches for all pages that link to the current page. Pages which do not yet exist are linked with a question mark (or a different rendering in bold red): just follow the link and you can add a definition.

You are encouraged to edit the WikiSandBox whichever way you like. Please restrain yourself from editing other pages until you feel at home with the ways a wiki works.

WikiName은 영어와 한글의 경우가 다르다. 한글 위키네임의 경우는 낱말의 앞 뒤를 []로 둘러싸는 것으로써 WikiName을 짓는다. []안에는 띄어쓰기를 하지 않는다. 영어 위키네임을 지을 경우엔 두 낱말 이상의 합성어로서 짓되 각 낱말의 첫문자는 대문자로 나머지 문자들은 소문자로 써야 한다.

이렇게 지어진 WikiName들의 진가는 자동으로 해당WikiName의 페이지로 하이퍼링크가 된다는 데 있다. 즉, 어느 페이지에서건 그 페이지와 관련된 WikiName을 적어 놓게 되면 이를 통해 해당 페이지로 갈 수 있게 된다.

밑줄이 쳐져 있는 페이지 이름(이 페이지를 예로 든다면 HelpForBeginners)을 누르게 되면 해당 페이지와 링크되어 있는 다른 모든 페이지들의 리스트가 보여 진다. 이를 노스모크에서는 역링크라고 부른다.

링크글자 뒤에 물음표가 달려 있다면 이는 그 페이지는 아직 제목만이 있을 뿐 페이지 내용이 비어 있는 상태임을 뜻한다. 만약 당신이 그 제목에 걸맞는 글을 쓰고자 한다면 그 물음표를 클릭해 보라(e.g., NoSuchPageForReal). 그러면 편집창이 열리면서 당신의 글쓰기만을 기다리는 하얀 백지 화면이 나타날 것이다. 글을 쓴 후 페이지를 저장하게 되면 이로서 세상에 또 하나의 위키 페이지가 탄생하게 됨을 목격하게 된다.

페이지 이름도 위키네임으로 되어 있지만 새 페이지를 만드는 보다 쉬운 방법을 소개한 페이지이름 페이지를 읽어 보기 바란다. 한편 위키네임은 링크, 페이지 이름 외에도 질문없이묻기와 같은 용도로도 활용될 수 있다.

A WikiName is a word that uses capitalized words. WikiNames automagically become hyperlinks to the WikiName's page. What exactly is an uppercase or lowercase letter is determined by the configuration, the default configuration works for Latin-1 (ISO-8859-1) characters. See below for how to handle Asian, Hebrew and other non-western character encodings.

The highlighted page title (i.e. HelpForBeginners on this page) shows a list of all pages that link to the current page. It even works on pages that are not defined yet.

A question mark after a link means that the page is not defined: you can click the question mark to offer a definition (e.g., NoSuchPageForReal). If you click on such a link, you'll see a default page that you can edit; only after you save the page will it be created for real.

To escape a WikiName, i.e. if you want to write the word WikiName without linking it, use an "empty" bold sequence (a sequence of six single quotes) like this: Wiki''''''Name.

If you enclose a sequence of characters in square brackets and double quotes ["like this"], that makes it a page name. That can be used for specific uses of MoinMoin (like organizing a list of items, e.g. your CD collection, by their "natural" name), or if you want to create a wiki with a non-western character encoding.

This is a configurable feature, so it might not work!
